Triggering an Event Inside a Custom ViewCell

Hi,
I'm trying to trigger the play event of a VideoPlayer Plugin (https://github.com/adamfisher/Xamarin.Forms.VideoPlayer) which is inside a Custom ViewCell of a ListView. Unfortunately I can't find any information on how to do this.

My page will display images and videos in the listview and if it's video, I need to click the play button (in the same viewcell) in order to play it. Also, I'm toying with the idea of utilizing the ItemAppearing and ItemDisapppearing Events to trigger this play event. Any Ideas on how I can achieve this?
