Is it feasible to detect MSSQL table changes from Xamarin?

Hi,
I have tried to use SQLDependency, and it shows "Input string was not in a correct format" at
connection.Open();
Is it feasible to detect MSSQL table changes from Xamarin?
Are there any packages for it?
