XamarinInstaller.exe displays a single dialog and after selecting Continue, the dialog closes, there is some disk activity but nothing else appears. It appears that .NET 4.5 is required for the installation but .NET 4.0 is the latest version available on Windows XP.
Can someone please confirm this and that I am unable to use Xamarin on Windows XP?
BTW, I have successfully installed Android 4.4.2 and built a sample App using Eclipse. The App runs in the emulator and on an LG Nexus 4 device. Xamarin Studio 4.2.2 has also been installed but fails to create a new solution with this error:
Xamarin.Android is not installed
The Xamarin.Android SDK is required to develop applications for Android. Please install Xamarin.Android, you can download it from the Xamarin website.
