I’ve been working with the team here to pull together a list of recipes which demonstrate how to develop iOS apps purely in C#. This list of recipes explores a range of scenarios which should give you a solid understanding of what's involved in going Xib-less.
This should be a very useful starting place for developers working exclusively in our new Visual Studio extension; however, code-only layouts have a number of other advantages. To start with, many properties and behaviors of iOS layout are not exposed in Xcode’s Interface designer. Additionally, keeping layouts in C# also allows for easier management and tracking of UI changes for development teams and makes it easier to merge changes which can be extremely time consuming when developing with xibs.
