How can I add a new Contact to the addressbook

I found it very easy to access the Contacts in the AddressBook, but how do I create a new one...I can modify a contact once it is there, but I need to create a new one. I'm using the Xamarin.Mobile framework, which is very useful, apart from my little problem.
