Can't make an outlet

I’m walking through the Hello, iPhone sample and I’ve run into a road block that I can’t get around. What I’m seeing is not what’s documented in the example. In Interface Builder, when I select a button, press ctrl, and drag over to the .h file, I don’t get the option to add an outlet. See attached file. Not a lot I can do if I can’t create an outlet.

Here’s the background on my development machine. I completely updated my Mac Mini, including: • Updated to OS X 10.9.2 • Updated to XCode 5.1 • Installed Xamarin 4.2.3 (build 60)

I’ve searched the forums as well as the web and can’t find the answer. Any help I can get on this would be greatly appreciated.
