How to handle changing items a UIPickerView?

As the following picture, I have a UIPickerView with some items that will serve as a filter to the contents of a UIScrollView. When the Controller is loaded, the index of the UIPickerView will always be 0 and when this index change, I need to check it in order to change the content that should be displayed in the UIScrollView.

Is this possible? Grateful now.
