Missing resource images (png) on iOS

Hi,

We have images that are bundled resources in an iOS project that display when running on the emulator and device, but are missing once we deploy the application to the App store. This is a recent problem - images that worked and have not changed did display in the app, but they are gone now?

Do the images need to be in an asset catalog for the newest version of xamarin? We are using Xamarin 4.8.0760 in Visual Studio 2015.
