Hi all,
beeing really tired of messing with React Native (promising product, maybe, but IMHO currently not mature enough for real world production), I did last week decide to give Xamarin a try. I set up a blank Mac (MacBook Pro, OSx: 10.13). I installed all available updates, and then downloaded and started Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition from download.visualstudio.microsoft.com.
Like stated on one of the installer screens, I let XCode installation execute in parallel.
After several hours of installation, almost at the end, the Visual Studio installer fails to install the Android SDK. "Something went wrong ..." (stack dump see below). I'd really like to peek into the mentioned file, but alas, the Users\builder path doesn't seem to exist, I guess it's a useless path originating from some development or building machine. XCode - like always - installed allright. I tried another run installing XCode first, but the Visual Studio Installer crashed exactly like before.
Not quite a warm and promising welcome, I'd say. What can I do to get Visual Studio 2017 installed?
