Use Visual Studio for Mac or Xamarin to edit online files (ASP.net C# Webforms)

Hi.

I'm building an online platform for the school where I work. I already started some time ago, and at the time, I decided to opt for ASP.net C # Webforms considering that was where I felt most at ease.
I'm working on Mac, with Visual Studio 2015, with Windows 10 on a Parallels virtual machine.
I have tried several times to install Visual Studio for Mac Preview or Xamarin, in order to eliminate the virtual machine I am using (it's using about 50GB of disk space!!!).
Unlike Visual Studio 2015, these last two IDEs do not allow you to open a site via FTP. I need to do so because I'm using Office365 OAuth and my domain must be known (on internet, I say...).
I have already created a folder locally where I synchronize the site online, using third-party software.
Although I had to manually add the entire site structure to a new solution locally, I was able to replicate what I already had to use VS for Mac or Xamarin.
The problem arises when I open the files and some of the references are not recognized. For example, System.Data.SQLClient is not recognized ... Why not? These IDE do not allow us to work with ASP.net Webforms? Why do not these properly open a complete website from a folder, even locally, just like the VS2015 does?

Given that I would like / need to start working only with the operating system of my physical machine (Macbook Pro), what help can you give me at this time so I can do it easily and without having to change what I have already done (and already are a few thousand hours ...)?

Thank you!

P.S. Sorry about my English! I'm portuguese...
