How to setup UICollectionView datasource

Hi

I am completely new to both Xamarin and iOS development, so apologies for the obvious nature of the question.

I want to use a UICollectionView on a UIViewController, not a UICollectionViewController so that I can have other buttons and labels on the form. I find using a UICollectionViewController fills the whole screen up with the CollectionView which is not what I want. I have classes that implement the UICollectionViewDataSource and UICollectionViewDelegate classes separately but I don't know how to set these up as the delegate and datasource of the collection view.
